Alright so, my laptop screen broke awhile back, so i remedied this by using my HDMI port in my TV (it's a samsung flat screen). So things went well for awhile until just recently; I booted it up like i regularly do and it's fine. I goto my web browser (FireFoX) and I try going to this page. The page is unresponsive and I try to hit the back button to goto my previous page, the TV just goes to the message "no signal". To top it off, I don't think my laptop is responding to any of my keys Including my power button.. Even when i shut it, the screen doesn't shut off it just stays on and the only time I can get it to respond is when it first boots up, i have to shut it quickly.

If you could diagnose what's going wrong and how to fix the problem that'd be great thanks!

Hi,

Do start investigating with your TV, does it work when you switch it's source to a cable line? After diagnosing that the TV is okay proceed with the laptop.
- Do a hard reset first, remove the batter and AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds. Plug the charger and power it on, see if you'll get the display back to your TV.
- If that doesn't work and you can tell that the laptop is on, press the Windows key + P at the same time then press Enter.
- If that doesn't work the last step you may want to try to identify what's really happening to the laptop, disconnect the built in display of the laptop and it should show you everything on the external display even on the boot process and BIOS.

Well, i tried everything but the last step, i found out that it could be turned off by the power button. I believe it may be on some sort of safe screen or the screen may just be completely black (as in nothing but a black screen if the computer's screen wasn't broken)
