Sucharu :
The two models are New: Asus GL752VW-DH71 and Refurbished: Asus G750JS-DB72-CA. Prices are nearly same and I know G750 is a lot better according to benchmarks. But G750 is of previous generation and also refurbished. So I'm hesitating...

Look carefully at the difference between the two models. They are not exactly the same. Since I don't know what your exact needs are, I can't comment on which one is the better choice for you. My gut instinct is to go with the 750, but they're so close it really should come down to your specific use case.
Don't be scared off by CPU generations if the performance is there. I have an i920 (2009) and my husband is rolling 2500K, and they'd be very expensive to meaningfully upgrade. Unless you need every single shred of performance, a good chip can hold up for a while.
And dang, both of those things are beasts (I had a 17.3" laptop once and damn it was impractical), but 9.9lbs for one?? And 6.6 is no lightweight either!
Word of caution about benchmarks: just because something benchmarks better than something else doesn't mean it will benchmark better
in the way you want it to
So, just for example, if the benchmark is performance doing stuff like rendering movies, that doesn't automatically translate to gaming. Make sure whatever benchmarks you're looking at reflect what you'll actually be doing.
