My laptop internal screen doesn't work anymore so I use a monitor.
But for some reason after a few weeks the laptop doesn't project to the second screen anymore.
I tried fn+4 and Windows key+p, but it did nothing. I can't go trough pic settings because I can't see anything. Can someone please help me???

I have a ASUS laptop

P.s. Sorry for bad English, I'm dutch

The video chip may be failing. When you have it working, check for a BIOS update and also a video card driver update from the laptop vendor support site. The issue with using the external monitor is that when the system does not start up properly...
Nothing much you can do if you can't even see if the system is booting properly or if there are error message. Is this from a full shutdown? Try turning it on, then quickly closing the lid, it should detect the external monitor as the only screen if it's working properly. You'll need an external keyboard and mouse for this.

Thanks for your answer, yes this is from a full shutdown, I tried removing the battery, and closing the lid but nothing appears on the screen.. I don't see any errors or the booting screen, basically the screen stays black no matter what happens

Ok. For some weird reason the monitor started working after several forced reboots...
In the device manager it said that both of my graphical cards have been stopped because of a error... When I deactivate them and then activate them again they work normally again.. But after the next reboot it gives these error again. Because of those errors i can't project to a second screen acording to Windows (even though I'm looking at a second monitor right now). Why is it causing those errors??

The video chip may be failing. When you have it working, check for a BIOS update and also a video card driver update from the laptop vendor support site. The issue with using the external monitor is that when the system does not start up properly, many functions of the video card don't work, and that may include the external outputs.
