Hi,
If your other laptop is unusable in a way that you can't see anything on it you'll need to take the HDD off that laptop and use it as an external HDD so you can just connect it to another PC or laptop and you should be able to copy anything from that HDD from the other laptop.
Here are some examples of an enclosure that you can use.

You just put the HDD in that enclosure and it will act as an external drive.
