Good Day All

So i received a Lenovo T61 laptop from my monthers work seeing as they sell all their old units when they have no use for it anymore

I received the laptop installed with Windows XP seeing as all there programs they developed was based on Windows XP.

Now my biggest issue was i never tested if the usb ports worked when Windows XP was installed, but never the lest i intalled Windows 10 (From a USB drive). Everything worked on the laptop but not the USB ports.

I intalled every single driver i could find for the laptop and till no working USB ports. I then intalled Windows 8.1 and still nothing

My last option was to go for windows 7, but still it did not work.

The usb ports work when booting from them but as soon as i boot into windows they stop.

Why would this be?? I installed all the Intel Chipset Drivers and i also went into the bios to reset all the setting but no luck?

The Laptops battery is dead as can be and maybe that's a reason why ports don't work.

One weird thing that has happend maybe once or twice was that when a usb drive was plugged into the laptop and the laptop was restarted, the OS picked up the usb straight after the restart and i could even open the drive, but as soon as i removed the usb and plugged it back in it was dead again

Sooooo . . . . any help or advice would be great
Regards
