Blank screen on startup

I have Acer Aspire 4749Z, When I try to on it most of the times it shows blank screen then one day I shake it and hit slightly at RAM part then It worked fine [/i]but again when I try to open it I have same problem and its solved by same process. I fear that my laptop will be more damaged if I do this so please help me!!

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that might help in resolving the issue. (I don't suggest shaking the laptop specially if your using an ordinary HDD not a SSD because that could damage it :) ).
- Remove the battery and AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.
- Remove all the RAMs and put them back in making sure that they are all seated properly. You should hear a small clicking sound that should tell your if it's seated properly.
- Connect just the AC adapter then power the laptop on. If it boots up normally to the desktop you can connect the AC adapter as well.
- If all these doesn't work and you may need to reseat the CMOS battery as well to reset BIOS to default.
