Im building a new PC with a new motherboard and got a 1tb sata from a friend that he wiped to give me and now windows 7 won't install cause it has no partitions. How do I make one.?

Solution
I suspect that you have to "initialize" the drive first. A drive has to be initialized to create the partition table so that partitions can be created. There are two relevant forms of initialization, MBR (sometimes called DOS) and GPT. You will need either a working machine or a bootable CD such as Parted Magic to initialize the drive.
