Hi everyone.

I have this laptop which has a Windows XP Professional OS and I really can't find a way to adjust the brightness. The screen is too dim like I can nearly see nothing. The Fn key is not working. I even tried to download a program that helps to adjust the brightness. I set it to 100% brightness yet there is no improvement. Please commemt for suggestions. Thank you!

Hello Charina01

It seems the Power Options for your Windows are not configured properly. Can you please confirm if the brightness level under both the Plugged in and On battery columns are set accordingly?

In either case, you may want to restore the Power Options for the selected power plan back to default to resolve any issue related to its configuration.

If the above fails to work, you can try uninstalling and then reinstalling the graphics driver for your laptop.

Hope this helps. :)

Yes, check the Power Options in the Windows control panel, as viveknayyar007 mentioned. If you see that the brightness adjustment there is set to maximum, the problem could be the backlight or the inverter of your laptop's screen (if that's the case, the screen or inverter would need to be replaced).
