Headphone plugged but sound comes out of PC

Hello,

I have Hyper X cloud 2 headphones and when i plug via USB for the 7.1 surround sound, the sound only comes out of the PC not the headphones. but when i plug them without 7.1 it works.

I already used the 7.1 and worked, the sound came out of the headphones...

it sucks, i dont know why it happens.

help would be much appreciated !

Actually, just discovered that it happens only with itunes. just played a video on youtube and got sound out of headsets.
but then back on itunes and sound comes out of pc...

Actually, I think, but am not sure.. My mother had such a problem. There was some rubber round thing that she put the headphones in. It was with the PC, it didn't need to be set up. Ours then went missing and sound only came out of PC (with headphones plugged in without that thing), unless I adjust the tip of headphones you plug in, to the point of making the headphones themselves not work... Could that be why it only plays out of PC and not headphones, even though they are plugged in? Do all PCs have that rubber thing??
EDIT: wait you fixed it? I'm glad, but it's still happening on my HP windows 10 laptop. I don't know why.
