So I've got a Lenovo T440 laptop that won't shutdown. This is the first time it's happened since installing Windows 10, so I don't know if it's an OS bug... I've tried hitting the power button in the start menu, tried turning it off via the command prompt to get the message: "A system shutdown is in progress.(1115)". I eventually just let my laptop run out of battery hoping that would fix the issue only to have it turn right back on once plugged back in and still won't turn off. Any ideas on how to fix this would be awesome, thanks!

Solution
Hi,

First is to do a hard reset, remove the battery and AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds. Plug them both back in and try if it shuts down normally now. Next is to check if the setting for your power button is correct. Here's the link to get the steps. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ph/windows7/change-what-happens-when-you-press-the-power-button-on-your-computer. Look for "To change the default option on the Start menu".

Thanks. This solution worked for me on my T430 with Windows 10.
