upgrading my notebook's processor

Solution
The i7-2640M will fit that socket. The cpu is most liikely not soldered, so it should be replaceable. The question is if your motherboard BIOS will support it. If that model laptop is offered with that CPU, then it should work if you have the latest BIOS. I did a quick search and I could not find any info on the net whether other people have updated. So my answer is that it may or may not work and will require further investigation on your part.
