Hello, I'm in the market for a new laptop which I will primarily be using for school and gaming. I'm wondering if Origin PC's new laptops with the Intel Skylake processors are worth it, rather than a different laptop with a 4th generation Intel proccessor. If you have a different suggestion, my budget is $2000. Side note: I would get a desktop but most of my time is spent on campus and I won't get much use from one. Thanks in advance

With your budget, you'll get more bang for the buck w/ a 4th gen, might even consider splitting the budget a little and apply the bulk of it to the laptop and spend some on a denent monito, keyboard and mouse, then you can plug those in at a desk and in effect have a desktop, might look at something like the Asus ROG G75, $1,800 leaving $200 for monitor, keyboard, mouse

Wouldn't you get more use from a better graphics card as a gaming laptop? So the money you'd be spending on a Skylake CPU could be pumped into a 4th gen laptop with a better graphics card. Considering you have little in the way of an upgrade path on a laptop, getting one that can handle gaming at a decent framerate (especially if the laptop is full HD or you're outputting to a monitor) is pretty much the most important thing.
