The cost of a screen replacement will likely cost similar to a new set. I suggest calling a repair shop to verify this for where you live.

agreed with above. finding parts for cheaper brand televisions can be hard if not impossible and the cost to repair said screens if parts are available generally is very similar to the price of a new set. if you are worried about future damage it might be best to inveset on one of those warranties which covers everything including accidental damage.
