Sorry if i put this in the wrong section, but anyway;

I just got a new computer, i had to send the graphics card back 2 times, but now i got it and it is working well. I dont have any good speakers laying around, i have a old, bulky, and low quality pair of speakers, but im not here to complain about them not being good.

Title says it all, i need a recommendation for a good pair of speakers. I know nothing about speakers, types, and all that. I am talking about speakers you put behind your computer and plug them into the back of your computer. That is the kind i am talking about :p

Budget: $50, the absolute MAX is $75. I would like to stay around $50.

Also, no, i dont have a soundcard.

In most cases, speaker quality is highly dependent on price. In my mind, the entry point of speakers is closer to $100, and even that you don't get greatness.

You also have to decide if you want a 2, 2.1 or 5.1 setup, depending on your space.

Given your budget, I would look at (or listen to) the Logitech Z323.

What you really want for good speakers are speakers that are powered from a wall outlet and get the sound from your computer. A good set to look for is the Logitech Z523. I've bought refurbs at stuccu.com for $50, new they're more like $90. They're 2.1 (L,R, and Bass). They're big enough to provide useful bass, and they spread the sound around a room without a lot of volume. This makes them more useful in a dorm, or apartment setting. The refurbs I bought were no different than the ones I bought new, but maybe I was just lucky. I tried Logitech Z323 etc. and returned hem due to low bass performance. I've seen reviews that call them best $100 speakers. It's really worth stepping up that 1 level higher.
