I took out my headphones while watching a movie and BAAM! suddenly the sound was gone.
Movie was still playing but i couldn't hear any sound, so i turned the volume to full.
Still no sound, restarted the laptop, i waas still facing the same issue.
i also troubleshooted the problem, upgraded to latest sound manager, and yet i am still stuck on the same issue. Please help me diagnose the issue.
Also is it a software or hardware issue? (Headphones are still working great)

PS
Sorry for bad english

Solution
When it was working OK did plugging in the headphones turn off the internal speakers?
When you insert headphone plug that interrupts the connection to the built in speakers and a part of the jack may now be struck in the off position.
This occurs on Onkyo surround sound receivers and the tech guys suggest blowing into the headphone jack. The jack is bigger on most receivers so you may need a can of air or a compressor. Give it a try.
