Having trouble with Skype

I was using Skype yesterday. I've been using it for months now on this PC, and years on many others without any real major problems. Apparently, it completely disconnected me last night as I was asleep, which was sometime after around 3 AM to possibly 6-7 AM EST. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Skype. I have reset the Internet Options completely in Internet Explorer. I can connect to my account in a browser, (Google Chrome right now). Also, I have messed around with changing the ports in the Advanced settings at the Skype login screen. My connection is okay, and I don't think the ports for Skype are blocked, as it was working just fine last night. Is there any way I can fix my connection error, ("Skype can't connect"), or am I stuck with using the web version?

Windows Firewall is enabled, but I wouldn't think that would be the problem, as it was working perfectly fine before just this morning. I may also be able to check my router for blocked ports and such, but I'm doubtful that something there would be blocking Skype now after all this time.

Edit: I disabled Windows Firewall, and there was no change. I still cannot connect to my account through the Skype application.
