I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Z50-70 and that battery is horrible like 2 hours if I'm lucky. I have tried maximising the battery life but it doesn't change much. I have looked on the Lenovo website for a larger battery but I can only find its regular 4 cell one. I have been looking for an external battery that I can just use to charge the laptop without the need of a power outlet. I have looked around but cant find too many and I really cant spend $200 on one. There are the external batteries which have USB outputs. Would these be able to charge my laptop? If not what are my options for charging my laptop on the go?

There are portable battery chargers you can purchase; they are typically known as power banks. You just have to do some searching at Amazon or other similar sites. Below is an example of one for $110, but it only has a 3 out of 5 rating from users. Fortunately, the black version costs the same as the pink version... unless pink is your color.

Here's another example that has better reviews and is $100.

Are you playing games while running on battery?

No I have but the graphics card into maximize battery when on battery. Although I am writing web apps in which I test on a local server running on my machine. I don't think this will have as big of impact on battery as running games though.

Also looking at your second link that battery comes with notebook connectors/adapters and my notebook battery charger is there. Is there any way to buy these separately because my charger adapter never comes with the external batteries. Mine is the yellow rectangular one.

The battery is just really small (2200 mAh) and just idle can lose like 2% in a couple minutes. I can maybe have tops an hour and a half before I need to plug in again.

Well then, I will just recommend that you get the RavPower Power Bank (or something similar) for the time being so you do not need to be near an A/C outlet every 90 minutes or so as a stop gap measure.

Try saving up for a laptop with better battery life like a Dell XPS 13 or ThinkPad T450. They are not exactly inexpensive since they start at about $900. If I remember correctly the Dell XPS has been tested to get about 10 - 11 hours on "typical" usage. The ThinkPad T450 can get about 8 - 9 hours on the standard battery; I think the extended battery gives another 3 - 4 hours. The T450 has an internal and a detachable battery which allows you to replace the battery without the need to turn off the laptop.

However, there are laptops in the $600 - $800 range that should be able to give you at least 4 hours of battery life based on "typical" usage.
