Yesterday I bought a new headset, the Turtle Beach PX22's, to use primarily with my PS3. Everything is plugged in correctly into my console with the headset connected to the in-line amplifier with the mic on. When I go into Settings > Accessory Settings > Audio Devices and select my Turtle Beach headset as the Input and Output device and talk into the mic I don't see the audio levels moving nor can I hear myself in the headset, which is a feature called mic monitoring. However, I am able to hear the games sounds; only the mic doesn't work.

I tried plugging in my headset into my laptop to test the mic and just like my PS3, the mic doesn't work while the sounds do. I setup everything correctly in the sound panel by selecting my headset both in the Playback device and Recording device as the default one, but with no avail.

The funny thing about this is that my old headsets, the dreamGear PS3 Elite Gaming Headset's, had the same problem: I could hear the sounds coming from the tv, but not talk into the mic. So I'm not sure here if the problem is with my headsets or my PS3 and PC?

If anyone has any suggestions as to what I could do to fix the problem I would gladly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

I found the problem with my PS3. It turns out it was my console who was causing the trouble. It seems during my gaming one of my games crashed and that might of corrupted some system files. I went into safe mode and reset completely my PS3 (I did a quick format) and what do you know, my headset mic started working again. :)

However, I still have to find a solution for my PC. I think the problem might be coming from the new Windows 10 upgrade. I hear a lot of people are having driver issues and stuff like that.

Oh well, one day that'll be fixed as well. Good thing I got my PS3 working again.
