Worth upgrading phone?

I currently have a moto g I got about a year ago. I was thinking about upgrading to the new ipod touch 6. I only use wifi and I have a main cell phone for texting and call. So would it be worth upgrading?

The iPod Touch 6 is not a phone mate. It's a music player. It cannot connect to cell towers. Only Wi-Fi.

Yes I understand that. The moto G I have now is only used for apps and games. I would only use the ipod for games and apps. Was just wondering how much faster it would be

The screen is one inch smaller. But has higher PPI. They are both IPS.
It weighs half as much.
It has a dual core 1.1 GHz processor, wheras the moto g has a 1.4 Ghz quad core. But since they are running two different OS, you can't really compare this.
They both have 1GB RAM (Moto G 16GB version has 2GB RAM).
They Moto G has a slot for a MicroSD card up to 32GB. But the top model iPod has 128GB of storage.

While the iPod sure is a nice product (I have one myself). I doubt you will see much difference, apart from the OS being different.

So I would be better off just using my moto g and using the money to upgrade the Gpu in my desktop?

I have no experience with the Moto G. And generally speaking iOS is better optimized for the hardware, so it MIGHT run better even though on paper the Moto G looks better.

If it were me I would definitely use the money on a new GPU. But I have never been into mobile phone games. (That's why I bought a Windows Phone). I never really used my iPod for gaming. Only music, youtube videos and movies. But it will run games like World of Tanks Blitz pretty smoothly.
