I currently bought a charger for my aspire one d257 netbook,because I thought it was the reason for my netbook not turning on. Sometimes if I wiggle the cord, it will turn on for a short while, but now it is doing nothing at all. Any suggestions as to what the problem could be or what I can do?

If wiggling the cord used to power on the laptop for a while, I would suggest you to check if the cord is faulty. You can use the adapter with a different laptop to confirm.
In case you find the cord faulty (highly unlikely), you may want to replace the power adapter jack or its IC on your laptop as it may be the reason for issue.
