I had just completed installing a fresh copy of windows and was doing a reboot after installing drivers, the bios had been giving me a message about the boot order or something along those lines not being right but you could select ok and it would skip it and boot fine. I went into the bios and selected default settings, saved changes and quit. Then nothing, the laptop wont show a splash screen, boot or anything. All i get is a black screen with the power light, hdd light, sometimes caps light and a fan that starts running after say 10 seconds. I've tried removing the battery, connecting to an external monitor, and every other obvious thing. I removed the cmos battery and still no luck. Tried the emergency reflash, the usb indicator flashes for a few seconds and then again nothing. I'm completely out of ideas for what to try, as it stands the laptop is completely bricked just from selecting default settings in the bios. Someone please help as i am currently looking at the thing contemplating a late night game of Frisbee. Of the hundreds of pc's i have worked on i have never had one brick itself over default bios settings, stupid!
