have an old win xp compaq computer that we dug out to try to use but having a lot of trouble getting it to connect to the internet i suspect its frikin norton screwing things up but i cant remove it it seems all the tools are meant to be accessed from the web and not downloaded then run as i tried this and get a this "program is outdated visit the website" and of course i cannot cuz it wont connect eeerrrggghhh!!!
now occasionally it will conect up but almost immeaditly it drops out and says navigation cancelled...firewall crap right??? but i have turned off every thing i can and it does the same thing im really stuck here and realise my best bet is to chuck it and start over but is was a nice lil tool and the person it was for is a lil techno phobic and is very comfortable with this machine

help!!

Do you still have the same issue connecting to the internet in safe mode?

Also, have you tried reinstalling or updating the network drivers?

See if you can connect to this website:
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/

It's nortons direct link download site for the latest version of the removal tool. This is your best chance to get it.

Hi PetertheCat1,

Sorry for the delayed response. May I know the name/version of Norton Security program you have in the PC? Also, the Norton Removal tool available here: www.norton.com/nrt should help you uninstall Norton Security programs. Do you get any error messages when you run the Norton Removal Tool? Let me know if you need any help.

Thanks!
