My laptop only runs on a/c power. It detects a battery & battery level is 90% & charging.
However, the moment i unplug the a/c adapter, the laptop switches off. It could not be switched on without the a/c power. I tried removing the battery & run on a/c power alone, it worked as well. Hopefully it's just battery issue, so i could just get the battery replaced & not the entire motherboard.

I'm using an Acer Aspire V5-573PG.
Battery is AP13B8K.

Thanks!

It is either a problem with the battery or the circuitry that connects the battery to the laptop's power supply. In either case, you won't have to replace the whole motherboard, for the most part. You must have it serviced immediately, though, as any problems related to the electrical supply of the laptop may cause more severe damage down the road.
