I am a university student in need of a replacement laptop. WIll be mostly used for web browsing and running applications like the Office suite but what pushes the specs a little is that I like to play some online games like League of Legends and Hearthstone (neither of which are *that* intensive, right?)

Looking for:

-budget: ~$350 USD
-preferably running Windows OS
-able to handle League of Legends at medium settings with 50 or 60 fps
-portability is a factor, not looking for a 17-incher

My searching has been a bit difficult as i'm not too knowledgeable with how far integrated graphics have come. People in the LoL community especially used to avoid them like the plague, but apparently some can go toe-to-toe now with name-brand dedicated cards.

If $350 simply isn't enough to get me something that will do the job, I completely understand.

For such a low price, I don't think you will be able to play lol at med settings. If you don't mind playing the game at the lowest settings, then it should be possible as the igpu will be able to handle it.

If this is the case, look for a cheap lenovo or an acer laptops as they are good budget end laptops for light gaming and normal use.

350$ is not enough for discrete graphics card in a laptop. The best would be to go to a store that they allow you to build your laptop and tell them to add an ssd 128 GB instead of these 500 or 1000 GB slow 5400 rpm hdds. That would be best because even if you won't be able to play lol the programs will open and perform fast something you really need right. Also for a dedicated graphics card you will need at least 500$
