1. What is your budget?
1100USD

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
-15"

3. What screen resolution do you want?
-Full HD

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?

-I will rarely leave the property with this but move around the house often.

5. How much battery life do you need?
-Not a major factor

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

-I wont play games on this machine.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)

-Professional house design and photography. Some video. Mainly for photoshop and AutoCad as well as entertainment.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?

-Flexible as can always go external but would like the unit to be upgradable. I could always add an ssd once the warranty runs out for example.

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?

- As long as I can. As the displays improve I will get an external monitor. I don't use the laptop daily for work but would like it to be nice a fast so I can get back to other things.

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?

- Not mandatory but nice

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.

- open to suggestions

13. What country do you live in?
-US

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.

I would like to know what is the best display available on a memory and hard drive 'upgradable' laptop.

I don't know that a touch screen is needed but realize windows is heading in a touch direction. Display port might be needed for a future 4k monitor but I am not up to speed on this requirement.

I know a desktop would be a good fit except I like to move around the house a lot. If I am doing a super serious project I would hook up to the monitor.

Thanks in advance for you help and suggestions.

Thank you for the recommendation. I have been trying really hard to get a little up to speed on these machines in order to make an informed decision. I had this unit at the top of my list so I am very happy to have the input of an expert for the added confidence. I should have come here first!!

Thanks TechyInAZ !!
