Ok, so I have recently built a new PC, bought a pair of Sennheiser PC363D to use, which work perfectly fine, but with or without the headphones plugged in, sound does not come through my TV, I have my TV connected to my PC through the HDMI port on the graphics card, I've even tried using a cable I have which is red & white on one end for which I assume is for audio ports & it has a green jack on the other end, plugging the red and white into audio out on my tv & the other end into the headphone port on the pc, the line in, speaker out, tried a few, no different result with any!?

If HDMI isn't carrying over audio but is carrying video, I would start with uninstalling, deleting, and reinstalling the drivers for your video card.

What is your default sound device for playback, according to Windows?

if you want to use the headphone to rca cable you need to plug the green end into the headphone port on the back of the computer and the red and white rca's into the input on the tv.

as for the hdmi and audio you might have to right click on the speaker in the lower right had corner by the clock and go into playback devices and tell it to play audio through the hdmi.

Different audio sources in windows needs to be set in playback devices as default. It will be set on 'speakers' as that's the audio setting generally use. For HDMI, look for your graphics card high definition with a TV and enable/set default.
