I want to buy a new laptop i found few refurbished from Argos at very good price. Asus X553MA and HP 15-R212NA. I would buy the Asus or the HP depend on the CPU difference and also if those laptops have a mobo i can upgrade its components. Thanks.

Celerons are entry-level CPUs designed for very cheap laptops. They are slow, not future-proofed, and are generally only good for basic productivity tasks like Word document creation and light web browsing. An i3 CPU is far more powerful than a Celeron. Note that even if you only use your laptop for simple tasks, it would be wise to get a better processor, because this ensures that your laptop will be competent for a longer period of time. Minimum requirements for software do rise over time as hardware becomes more powerful.

I've looked at the two models you're choosing from, and it appears that the HP with an i3 is a better choice.

Even if the CPU is no integrated into the mobo? The thing is that im at the begin of studying as a Hardware/Software technician but i do not want to buy the laptop just to open it up and found that out, so i just wanna buy one knowing i can make modifications later, as my budget permits overtime, and my experience, why i am asking if HP has that kind of versatility. Thanks.

Thanks Velo3100 I need the laptop for my homework, testing software and hardware (s) and for making videos. But I also wanna use it for general use..

The i3 will be better for those purposes.
