I have a Sony Viaio VGN-SZ61WN it is a hybrid laptop. It has 2 graphics card. There is a switch by the power button to use either of the 2 graphics cards. It has an intel and nvidia. The intel works fine but the Nvidia one doesn't. When I try to use the Nvidia one the screen has weird lines and letters. I would like to know if I could fix it my self. As well does the graphics card come out. I need this laptop.

It sounds like the Nvidia GPU is damaged, based on the model number it looks like you likely have a 8400GS, which are known for dying with symptoms like this due to a manufacturing error. The only way to fix it would be to replace the motherboard, if you can get one. eBay is a good place to look but make sure you get exactly the same model or it will not work. Based on the age of the notebook it might be cheaper to buy an entire notebook of the same model for parts.
