H there, I've recently bought Acer V 15 v3-572-55MA NX.MNHSI.009, on my laptop I have an NVIDIA GEFORCE 840M sticker, however when I open my NVIDIA control panel I see NVIDIA 820M (Version 333.57), is this a driver issue or was I misled?

A small update, I had a little chart with the seller, he says that the control panel of 840M and 820M the same and hence I see 820M, is that really so?
I'm sorry but it's the first time I'm using an NVIDIA device so I have almost no experience with this.

Speccy is right! The 840M is a slightly better graphics card as compared to the 820M - http://graphics-cards.specout.com/compare/2501-2502/Nvidia-GeForce-GT-820M-vs-Nvidia-GeForce-GT-840M

You can bring up this issue with the store that sold you the laptop.

okay, thank you for the information, it helped in at least clearing one fact, I was misled. I'll try and report to them, however what's shocking to me is the fact that the sticker on the laptop is of GeForce 840M. :(

From where did you buy this laptop? Which store and in which country?

The mis-labeling might have occurred at the factory. The operator might have loaded the wrong spool of labels on to the automated labeling machine, and it slipped past QA. QA must have looked for the presence of a label but not what the label stated. This happens sometimes on "Presence sensing" scanners that do not have OCR (Optical Character Recognition).
