Need help choosing the best processor from Intel core i3-5010 or AMD A8 quad core 7410. Using for college and maybe light gaming nothing too much.

A8 will be far better for gaming, so if you play anything more demanding than CSGO or portal 2 then get the A8.

Since the A8-7410 has been recently released there are not any game benchmarks specifically for the integrated Radeon R5 (Carrizo) graphics core. However, Notebookcheck.net speculates that it will perform similarly to the Radeon R5 (Beema) graphics core. Carrizo replaces Beema. The performance of the Radeon R5 (Beema / Carrizo) is basically equal to the Intel HD 4200 graphics core. The Intel HD 4200 is actually a little less powerful than the older Intel HD 4000.

That means basically means the Intel HD 5500 graphics core is the more powerful than the Radeon R5 (Carrizo) graphics core because the Intel HD 5500 is roughly 30% - 40% more powerful than the Intel HD 4000..

As for the processing performance, the A8 APU should be roughly equivalent to an Intel Core i3 CPU.
