So, I've been having issues with my onboard soundcard for a few months now, i hear crackling when i change the volume, sometimes even popping. I've tried to fix it with different drivers and stuff but it just isn't doing anything. Also my last headset broke a while ago, and i am now looking into getting a new one. So , does the hyperx cloud 2 sound card produce good sound?
I use my pc for gaming, listening to music and such. I'm not an audiophile but i would really aprecciate if i finally got some good audio from my rig.
If its gonna help, my motherboard is GA-p75-d3 rev 1.1
Also I've heard of people having issues with crackling and such from the cloud 2, can anyone tell me something about this issue? Is it fixable?

Solution
Hi there I recently purchased a cloud 2 headset, and may I say a great improvement from my last headset. It sits comfortably on my head, and is suitable (in my opinion) for long hours of gaming. I can confirm there is random crackling noises every once in a while, but it seems most when I am pulling the headset. The included sound card is OK, and will give you that nice 7.1 simulated sound. It is amazing in gaming, giving explosions some umph to them, while also being able to hear ever little detail in the game world. I have played games such as GTA V, ETS2, CS:GO, and Star Citizen, and have an amazing experience. If you're into techno or edm/dub you will have a great experience. Just about any music sounds good on this to be honest. It...

Just about any music sounds good on this to be honest. It is a closed headset, very little leakage when put on. I actually had someone stand near me with full blast audio on and they couldn't hear it. I would recommend this headset to anyone on a budget.

But to answer your question, the included sound card is OK. You could go for better, but in my opinion it gets the job done just fine. If you happen to have an issue involving the popping/crackling there is no driver you actually install so there is really a fix, other than replacing the card itself. But for a headset in it's price range it's one of the best mic/headset you can get.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm kinda on a budget... Also, therefore, I'm better off getting the HyperX Cloud instead of the HyperX Cloud 2? The only thing i see different is the usb sound card and 7.1 surround sound?

Woops , picked your answer as the solution by mistake instead of clicking reply :p
Thanks for your input sir, anyway, do you have any info on how the usb sound card pairs up against onboard sound? Is it worse?

The difference between the Hyper X cloud and the Cloud 2 is the connectors and the sound card. the cloud 2 uses 1 3.5m audio where mic and headset go, whereas the cloud has 2 separate cables. as well as the Cloud 2 had a sound-card upgrade to the Cloud.

Plugging the headset manually to the MoBo, wont affect much other than the fact you loose the virtual 7.1 Surround from the sound card. Your Board does have it's own 7.1 although you must config it.

Realtek ALC887 codec
High Definition Audio
2/4/5.1/7.1-channel
* To configure 7.1-channel audio, you have to use an HD front panel audio module and enable the multi-channel audio feature through the audio driver.
Support for S/PDIF Out

But if you do opt in for the Cloud 2 you should be just fine with the included sound card. If you go for the Cloud you have to manually set it up for Virtual 7.1 from your board.
