Hello all. I have a problem that I cannot seem to figure out. I'll start by how I start my daily ritual on my laptop.

I start up the laptop. I log into WoW. I notice that is starts to sputter. I check my FPS. It starts to drop to the teens. Then my computer just dies. I start back up, and it may do it again, then it may not.

I have used CPUID's Hardware Monitor to monitor my temps. They are in the 50-60 range with continuous use. I also did a thermal treatment when this first started to be sure. This did not fix the issue. I thought, maybe it's a software issue. So, yesterday, I did a clean install. This did not fix the issue. The now seems to be a hardware issue. To my knowledge, if MB is bad, it won't boot at all. CPU or other hardware issues tend to give you the blue screen of death.

Computer Specs:
Asus G75
Windows 10 (Was 8.1 when problem started)

Please help me resolve this issue. I really do not want to shell out another $1600 for a new one.

Thank you.

Solution
Hi,

2 things that I could recommend. First is to do a complete clean up inside the laptop reapply fresh thermal paste both in the CPU and GPU of the laptop. Second is to install the latest graphics card driver from the manufacturers site. Uninstall the graphics card driver from Device Manager and Programs and Features. Once removed download and install the latest driver from NVIDIA or AMD depending on what you have in your laptop.

NVIDIA - http://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx
AMD - http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

Hope this helps.
