i am looking into these speakers.
Code:
http://www.ebay.ie/itm/251702694372?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

they have had some really great reviews for the price they seem to beat many 1k+ speakers.

my question is, are these the cables that i would need?
Code:

and what cheap amplifier would work with those speakers?

and would these cables allow me to stream audio from my pc sound card?

Solution
Just so you know, those speakers won't play as low as the specs say. If I were to guess, they probably would start falling off around 40-45Hz at the lowest.

If you are only running stereo then that 1/8 to rca would work fine. Don't cheap out on amplifier. Its like buying a really nice house and putting a bad roof on it. The sound quality of the speakers will suffer with an amp that it not of quality.

What is the price range you are looking to spend,

what is the application?

Those connections on the speakers are what is called banana plugs.

You can use just normal speaker wire, or you can put the plugs on the speaker wire.

As far as an amp, I agree that you should not go cheap.
Get as good of quality as you can afford. If this is a receiver and not just an amp this is even more important as it processes the audio. If just an amp then it is still important as a good amp will amplify the signal cleanly and a bad amp will get it very distorted very quickly.

To begin to make a recommendation would need to know what your application is going to be.
We know you want those speakers and to hook it up to your PC but what other things do you want to connect to it, and what types of audio are you wanting to play: music (and what genres), games, movies, etc?

thanks for the quick reply! i am lost in these bananas and shinanegans... LOL.

well the speakers seem very cheap 700watt for 100 euro. thats why i want them...

but if an amp is expensive, it kinda shoots trouble.

lets say my budget for amp is 200 euro max? what could i get? anything good out of that range? and can you list all the cables that i would need for speakers and to play music/movies from my pc?

as for genres. it would be literaly any type of music and any genre of movie. everyday is different day, thus different mood. :) p.s. i have never had such speakers in my life. always had speakers with simple 3.5 plugs.

If you want to watch movies then you should be looking at a home theater setup and not just a really powerful set of stereo speakers.

With a basic amp and those speakers you will loose all surround sound and higher level audio processing, basically stripping it back down to 1980s quality.

Instead you should be getting a half decent surround receiver, decent set of speakers, and an optical toslink cable to connect your PC to it.

Unless you are trying to play music in a large open field or stadium or something you don't need excessive watts to have a loud and good sound. My speakers have 60w RMS and are above and beyond good for music and movies.

i currently have corsair SP2500. wouldnt these speakers beat them in quality? and i dont need surround sound. i have logitech x530 speakers from old days. but i dont like them. the quality is ugly. i saw the new logitech z 906? surround? but i dont know if its worth investing in them ? i dont care abotu surround at all as it gives me no shivers at all... good loud clean bass with clean quality audio is what im after, but within budgets. not overpriced stuff.any reccomendations? on the cheapest but best option then ? :)
