windows 7 keeps shutting down abruptly.

my sony vaio vpcee21fx windows 7 keeps shutting down abruptly.sometimes it lasts long after i take out the battery and when i'm just clicking around it shuts down again..you never actually know when it will happen again..please help.someone suggested it could be the motherboard..i dont know.

Sounds like an issue with either the internal power jack or the charging cable. Does it do this if you unplug the cable and run off the battery only?

Have you used any kind of utility to see if there is a thermal issue, i.e, overheating, that's causing it to shut down. Do you hear the fan running normally, as in, as loud as it used to be or has the fan behavior changed or gotten quieter recently?

I'd make sure there is not a thermal issue. Does it shut down as if you had clicked on shut down, or does it just instantly lose power to everything? When it shuts down, are there any lights or beeps. Any when you restart?
