My Gateway NV55C laptop would not reboot. After several attempts and bringing it to a computer specialist it was determined the hard drive had bad sectors and needed to be replaced. We sleeved the hard drive so it would be an external drive(thus saving my work), and I installed a new hard drive. I used the recovery disks to reboot and it came up fine. During the restore I tried to restore Office 2007 but all I kept getting was an install for Office 2010, which I did not do. I then went to my office docs The problem all the office documents became Office 2010 docs and I could not reinstall my Office 2007 even though I have the disks. Is there any way to get 2007 working and not have to upgrade to 2010 ?

Hi,

First you need to uninstall the Microsoft Office 2010 that might had came in preinstalled when you installed Windows in it.
To remove Office 2010:
- Press the Windows key + R at the same time then type in "appwiz.cpl" in the Run box that should appear.
- Once Programs and Features is open look for Microsoft Office 2010 right click on it then select Uninstall
- When finished reboot your laptop then reinstall your Microsoft Office 2007 once it booted back up.
