I have a persistent issue that just doesn't want to get solved. First a little background:

I've had an HTPC attached to a Sony STR-DN1000 AVR connected to an old Samsung Plasma Display for a couple years with no troubles at all. I decided to upgrade last year to a much newer and nicer Samsung LED LCD UN55H6203AF. At first there wasn't much of an issue, but for the past couple months I have been having complete drop outs of the signal, the picture would be fine and then all of a sudden the TV shows a no signal display and the screen goes black. The only way to bring it back is to restart the computer. Sometimes it happens multipe times in a row, sometimes i can watch a couple shows at night (either WMC, netflix, or VLC player) and there is no trouble at all. I got frustrated so I purchased at ConnectPro TMDS-EDID box and that doesn't seem to fix any sort of handshake issue at all (if that is the issue). They weren't helpful with their customer support and just said to ask on forums to see if anybody knows a fix.. So.. anybody know of what i could do to fix? here are the specs below

Mainboard:
MSI FM2-A55M-E33
- Radeon HD 7660d

TV:
Samsung UN55H6203AF

AVR:
Sony STR-DN1000

Also running:
ConnectPRO TMDS-EDID

Thanks for your help!

HDMI handshake issues are very frustrating. The combination of source (PC) - cable - TV is involved so when you updated TVs that changed.
Try a different HDMI cable (maybe a short one even if it isn't a permanent solution).
Try a different HDMI input. Sometimes different inputs react differently even though no one can explain why.
An HMDI booster might help. The EDID box you tried doesn't mention any active eq functions.

i have tried a different HDMI cable to no avail. I did try a new input on the back of the TV though that was once it already lost signal so i'll try it again from the beginning tonight. I have switched from using the AVR at all to just bypassing it completely and still the issue persists

I have a similar issue on my LG tv. its an old HD-Ready and connecting the input to hdmi 2 then back to hdmi 1 makes the correct hdcp handshake, and displays with correct edid, but is so frustrating....
