Core i7-5700HQ 2.7-3.5GHz/17.3Full HD (19201080) 16:9/ NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M/16GB DDR3L 1600MHZ/1TB 7200 RPM /WIN 10+G-SYNC for 1500$

Both are excellent choices, in my opinion. Personally, I slightly prefer the MSI, because it is so much easier to access all the internals if you want to clean the fans or repaste the CPU/GPU.

I also like the backlighting of the MSI keyboard better. With the ASUS, your only choice is red.

The ASUS will boot much faster due to the SSD, and also load any games on the SSD faster. But it also costs $300 more.

They are both very well built. I will say that I think that the ASUS is a better looking laptop than the MSI, though.
