Alienware 15 1421slv VS Asus ROG g751jl-ds71

Okay so im torn between these two laptops for office use and gaming. Both come with GTX 965m gpu which is fine for my use. The specs and price including tax n shipping for me go on as follows:

Alienware: $1304
i5 4210h processor
Gtx 965m 2 gb
8gb ram @ 1600mhz
1tb 7200rpm hdd

Asus: $1499
i7 4720HQ processor
Gtx 965m 2gb
16gb ram @ 1600mhz
1tb 7200rpm hdd

There is a price difference but its not that significant. I want something reliable. After scouring the alienware and rog forums and basically everything i could find im still torn. The alienware has its issues and so does the rog. Both companies are troublesome to deal with (dell n asus). So im looking for some good hard advice. Which is better? Is it worth the i7 and extra ram ?
Any and all help will be much appreciated.

Laptop i5's are dual core with hyperthreading, so they will suffer a penalty in performance with gaming. $200 more for a CPU that (in laptops) is $180 more and an extra $100 worth of more RAM. Totally worth it. I've never put much stake in Dell, they tend to use cheap PCB material and have relatively short lifespans.
