Win 10 won't accept my VALID Win 8.1 numer. says 0's are invalid but what I have! HELP!!!

Installed, asked for product ID. I got from system and started to type it in and failed immediately saying 0's invalid

you have to update to win 10 first from your win 8. you can't do a fresh install of win 10 until AFTER you have done the upgrade through either windows update or the media creator.

your win 8 key will not work for anything win 10 related
