So yesterday I upgraded my MSI DRAGON 2 laptop (GTA 780m) to Windows 10. At first everything was running right, my games were running at a smooth 60 frames per second, and most were running better than before I upgraded. However with just a select handful of games I noticed a problem.

It started with Mortal Kombat X. I noticed Vsync was not working. It was at 100 frames plus with massive screen tearing. I noticed this on a couple other games too. Inexplicably some of them Had Vsync disabled. I double checked the Nvidia control paneI and sure enough I had it set to on. I turned it off, save it, exited, got back in to the control panel and re-enabled it and saved. But the problem persisted. In fact now strangely all the games had Vsync disabled. Borderlands 2 which 15 mins ago I'd been playing at a butter smooth 60fps was now running at like 200 fps and screen tearing horribly.

Next I went ahead and used the display driver UnInstaller (DDU) and completely uninstalled my driver, clean installed the newest driver and rebooted.

Same issue. No Vsync whatsoever. Very high but erratic frame rates. It makes no sense. I even tried re-reinstalling the driver. Something is now just permanently broken, I have no Vsync no matter what I do and the screen tearing is driving me nuts. Any ideas on what to do next? I'm baffled.

most likely its a windows or directx12 related bug, if it isnt that big of a deal then you can just wait till they release a new update with a fix or if the problem is really urge then you can always restore your upgrade to windows 8.1 or windows 7.

Yep, not every game has that option. It also seems like it's detecting the wrong resolution. It says it's set at the correct 1920x1080 but it tries to default every game to 1280 resolution instead when I install them and my toolbar and my fonts are all tiny like its set incorrectly. What a mess......

You have to understand that this is the first time that windows 10 is open to the general public and are giving a 100$ program away for free, there are going to be bugs and glitches, also microsoft is working hard to fix all the problems and most likely there is going to be a lot of patching soon,
if you want then you can always submit feedback and / or bugs on their website or use the windows feedback app that is pre-installed.

I am also having this problem with every game. I can't force Vsync by the Control Panel even with everything on the newest drivers. Windows 10 is very dissapointing so far, I just recently bought this laptop with an i7 - 6700HQ and a GTX 960M with 4Gb of GDDR5 VRAM.

I have the same problem. I have just purchased a MSI GS60 Ghost Pro, with GTX970M, a very expensive gaming rig. There is a annoying display issue, where a diagonal tearing appears during videos and games.
