Currenty I am using a hfs file server on an old laptop to stream movies/have access all to my files. It works well so far with Windows 8.1 and Android 5.0, through VLC media player, but I can't skip ahead
(meaning any episode I never finished watching, I'd either have to watch the whole thing/fast forward x4, or watch something else from the beginning).
Can anyone recommend a better alternative, or at-least settings I'm unaware of.
As for ps4, I've heard this will work, but I'm not sure if it's worth the risk/effort at the moment,

as for ios, I have no idea, It's for my mum, and if a $10 app gets the job done, I'll get it.
