Problem connecting LG 42 3D Smart TV with Home theatre with RCA

Hello, Iam having LG 42 3DTV and 5.1 hometheatre with RCA. My TV is also having Digital Audio out and HDMI(ARC) but hometheatre is only having RCA. Please suggest me solutions. Also HDMI to RCA converion cable can be used or not. I read in internet that these cables do not work and it is waste of money.Please suggest me options

You cannot use just a conversion cable (because there really aren't any). They are just breakout cables for very special hardware that has been designed to use them.
You have two options
1. Use a DAC to convert the optical out to RCA analog out

2. Use an HDMI extraction box that is compatible with HDMI ARC
http://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Extractor-Support-Converter-VHD-H2HARC/dp/B00LKF6CPG
I would suggest the DAC as it is simpler and doesn't take up an HDMI input.
