I don't have a lot of money so i have to use the old with the new. i want to connect an LG hdtv to; directv + box to; an old kenwood cd player to; a kind of old panasonic dvd/vcr player to; a vizio sound bar. is this possible? i'm sure i have all the right cables, i just need to know where to put them. and then i need to know what 'TV Input' to put the tv on. is this possible and if so can someone explain in novice terms? i'm old and just cant keep up with all this tech stuff. HELP Plz.

Solution
Without model numbers I can't be specific.
The soundbar would connect to the TV with an optical audio cable. (select that input on the soundbar and use the soundbar remote for volume control).
The DTV box is HD so would connect to the TV with an HMDI cable.
The DVD/VCR would connect to the TV with composite video and audio cable (yellow + red+white with RCA connectors at both ends.
The CD player should connect directly to the soundbar if it has an analog audio input (usually a 3.5mm stereo jack) so you would need a cable with RCA plugs at the CD and mini plug at the soundbar end. Select that input on the soundbar for CD playback.
