Hi everyone,

I have an HP pavilion dm1 laptop, with 32-bits OS, Windows 7 Home Premium.
I have windows 8.1 Pro, 64-bits on a usb stick. And i like to upgrade my laptop. When i boot into bios, and select the usb it says, no bootable device found or something.

Can anyone help me?

Solution
First, the you are running a 32 bit version of win. This means that the 64 bit won't work as it is designed to run 32 bit. I would get the 32 bit version and try installing it.

Just copying the iso image to a USB stick will not help u to install the os. Either I will recommend to burn a disc, A DVD and then install it. You will need bookable disc because currently you are running 32 Bit os. So if u have an bootable iso image then simply burn it to a DVD and insta the os. :)

You must make a bootle usb with various software like rufus, linux live, Windows 7 dvd/usb tool. The best right now is Rufus https://rufus.akeo.ie/

You must have an iso file of the operating if not make an iso by using any burning software like cdburnerxp or nero from the orginal Windows cd then use the iso file resulted to make the stick bootable.
