So I just bought an Asus T100TAS Windows tablet. Atom z3775, 2GBs of RAM, 32GBs of eMMC.

Every time I do something CPU (and RAM) intensive when on battery, like running video on Chrome, or playing a game, the tablet just shuts down after a while. I have done a factory reset to make sure it wasn't a driver problem.

Is this normal? It's very limiting to not do anything that will stress the tablet when on battery. The battery is not draining fast, nor is the tablet hot by the way.

Solution
If it is so new that you can return it to the store for an exchange (or refund), then I would do so immediately. What you are describing is not normal and it is not worth the trouble to figure out what the problem could be if you can simply exchange / return it.
