Is this laptop good for casual gaming?

Generally speaking it is decent enough to play most games at 1366x768 resolution using medium quality graphics, but performance varies depending on the game. Games that have low graphic requirements like League of Legends and Team Fortress 2 should be playable at 1080p with high or very high settings.

MAYBE...its is so entry level i suspect gaming might be a problem with a gt 940m. i suggest in a laptop you not get anything that doesn't have at least a GTX 860M, GTX 960m or better. Cause even those are underpowered in my opinion.

What is your budget? I think a good refurbished laptop might be a better option for you
