Hi all,

I recently had a problem where my bluetooth device (a hifi connected to a laptop) disappeared / was not discoverable. A system restore fixed it.

However, now, the device is visible, and is showing as connected, but no sound comes from the speakers. A system restore did not fix the issue, nor did uninstalling recent windows updates one by one. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the bluetooth driver, and followed the instructions in numerous bluetooth threads here and on other forums to no avail.

If I go to the 'sound' window, it allows me to connect/disable bluetooth headphones (which is how the stereo is classified) but no sound comes from them.

Samsung Windows 7 64 bit laptop.

I have probably spent about 15 hours trying to fix this, so any suggestions gratefully received!

Thanks,

John

I came on here to ask the EXACT same question. Sorry, I know this isn't a solution :(

But if anyone has an answer to this, I would really appreciate it as well!

Hello,
I experienced the same problem. When on the 'sound' window, after you right-clicked on the bluetooth speaker, did you set the speaker as your default?
What I did was set my bluetooth speaker as my default device, then I clicked 'Test' and sound came from the speakers.

I hope this helps

I tried what you suggested - usually I can get the sound to work for a little while by going into 'devices & printers' and connecting to the bluetooth receiver there, and then selecting it from the 'sound' window. But if I pause, or do anything, it stops working. Very annoying. Stupid bluetooth! Think I'll just get a long cable...
