Hey guys,
I just want to to check if I'm wiring my loudspeakers right. I bought the Q acoustics 2020i, so firstly do you think there's an audible difference between bi-wiring and just standard wiring? And my main question, how do I connect the speakers to my amplifier? The manual asks me to:
"split the cable to a depth of about 40mm. Bare the wire to a depth of 10mm and twist the ends to gather any stray wires. Crop the cable leaving 7mm of bare wire exposed.
"Unscrew the terminal anticlockwise to expose the mounting hole in the base of the terminal column. Insert the bare end of the cable into the hole. Re-tighten the terminal fully hand tight. Make sure there are no stray wires which could touch adjacent terminals."

Which holes do I connect each cable/wire to, and in most videos they use what looks like banana cables, are they necessary?

Amplifier: Lepy-LP2024A
Speakers: Q acoustics 2020i
Cables: 25m Quality 18AWG Loud Speaker Cable - Multi-Strand by electrosmart®

Solution
Red stripe/white stripe -- same thing. You would put the red stripe on the red terminals on both ends (shown as "+" on page pdf page 10). Usually the speakers come with jumpers that are made specially. See page 10 "Standard Wiring: 2020i and 2050i". Notice the grey jumpers shown between the terminals.

You would strip the ends of the cable as described, but on the amplifier, you would put one into the red hole and one into the black, for each speaker. The speaker wire usually has a white stripe or white writing on one conductor so that you can keep red and black straight. I put the white stripe on red.

With a 25W amplifier, you have no need (nor would that amp accept) bi-wire.

Hey kanewolf, thx lot for the help. My wires dont have a white thing, its two separately insulated strands, stuck together, but one of the strand's insulation has a red stripe. My speakers each have a HF+, HF-, LF+ and LF-. If I don't bi-wire (which as you said I can't), what do I do to my wire to connect the HF+ and LF- to the right speaker, and tthe left??
Please take a look at this: http://www.qacoustics.co.uk/qacoustics-brochures-and-manuals.htm
What I'm describing should be in there, my speakers are the 2020i

Sorry if I sound rly stupid, but this is my first time with hi-fi, your help is much appreciated.
Regards
