I have a Seiki SE47FY19 tv and a philips hts3440 home theater system w/dvd player. I only stream tv using my chromecast. The Philips dvd does not have an hdmi port anywhere - just a usb. Is there any possible way I can connect the tv and hts so that when I'm watching the chromecast, the sound comes out of my hts?

Hard to find info on the TV but it doesn't seem to have audio outputs. If not then you can plug the chromecast into one of these

The converter will give you audio outputs. Use the digital connection for better sound if you can.
