Good afternoon all!!

Looking to help my brother pick out a laptop for him to use in law school. I found the following questions in a sticky to help show exactly what he needs. I was hoping people would be able to point me in a good direction for a laptop for him!

1. What is your budget?
1000 to 1100 tops, including 3 yr in home warranty where available
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
15" to 17"
3. What screen resolution do you want?
1080 but doesn't matter too much as long as it's not crap
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Yes
5. How much battery life do you need?
Only for word processing/internet for class - 4-5 hours. gaming will be plugged in
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Yes - medium quality for hearthstone, steam games, world of warcrat (low settigns), I don't need good graphics, just sufficient to run the games
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Classwork - MS office, browsing (evernote maybe)
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
500gb min. big enough to store games, but do not need a large music library or video library.
9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
Dell.com (light discounts through work) (anything with sales/4th of july sales)
10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
3 years
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
Basic
12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
Dell - warranty and discount, after that, any quality brands with good warranties
13. What country do you live in?
USA
14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
Laptop for Law school and gaming on the side. Needs to be able to play steam games (not super intensive) and handle world of warcraft in raids without overheating.
Cannot be a very "Loud" laptop both visually and with sound. Basically, he doesn't want a laptop that sounds like hes running a leafblower while sitting in class. Same with not wanting an alienware. He wants a simpler looking laptop, not a crazy gaming one that draws attention to it.

At the moment, im looking a Lenovo y40-80 black . its on sale for 850, has r9 275M , a 500gb SSD, and a i7 5500U, and 16gb ram
